Currently seeking a Industrial Construction Manager for our mid-Atlantic Region based in Raleigh, North Carolina  This position reports to the Project Manager and will spear head new industrial construction, capital improvement, and industrial maintenance projects in the petrochemical, oil & gas, power, utilities, pulp & paper and pharmaceutical arenas.

WHAT DOES THIS JOB ENTAIL?

  • Manage and oversee work sites, including all field personnel, coordinating site activities, and assuring that all disciplines directly involved in the project are in phase with the project goals and objectives
  • Liaison between engineers, and others working on the project
  • Prepare and manage estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and track recurring construction issues
  • Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and other requirements
  • Monitor and report manpower/labor capabilities and short comings
  • Supports the PM in initial project creation. Assists is the development of initial design with regards to constructability and budgetary costs.
  • Validates that all construction materials conform to design per the engineering specification, company specifications, and industry/ regulatory requirements
  • Supplying a list to the PM of supplies and materials to complete construction projects
  • Inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations

•  Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans

  • Confidence & empathy to interact with all invested parties – client, subcontractors, trades, etc.
  • Well-versed in all industrial construction methodologies and procedures; extensive knowledge in building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Initiative and motivation to perform to high standards in a demanding environment
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the construction personnel, trades, engineers, project managers, and contractors
  • Advance knowledge of financial terms & principals
  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years actual field experience in project engineering, project management or construction management
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
