We are looking to hire an experienced plant technician for our manufacturing facility. This position is primarily responsible for producing roofing coating and other products in the batch manufacturing process. The technician is required to understand a batch sheet and precisely weigh and add raw materials to a production mixer (on the job training is provided). There are four levels within this job classification. Overall, this job classification is responsible for all plant operations. All technicians will be expected to work 40 hours per week and overtime when production is required.

What you’ll do:

  • Complies with all EHS & Quality procedures and policies. Following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Test production assemblies and sub-assemblies for correct operation and compliance to performance specifications from detailed instructions, set up or modify equipment, calibrate and operate equipment (mainly routine tests & multiple manufacturing operations/products).
  • Tune equipment as per detailed instructions
  • Ability and willingness to operate a lift, to work safely and follow all safety protocols and company safety procedures regarding lifts.
  • Serve as the manufacturing expert on new product introductions by providing feedback to engineering and manufacturing personnel as new products are developed, and new procedures are implemented.
  • Associates degree in a Manufacturing, Engineering or Technology related fields, or a High School diploma and 5 years’ experience as defined by having demonstrated electrical specific skills at a technician equivalent role proven in a formal educational and/or work environment. Energetic, enthusiastic, strong learner, self-motivated and a great work ethic.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with computer programs like Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing design or process
  • Proficiency to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and system level, using identifiable problem-solving techniques
